[livejournal.com profile] thette is off to London to meet several previous incarnations of the Doctor, and [livejournal.com profile] uistic was going to go to the opera. Then I noted an ad yesterday in the paper, called my mother, and booked tickets for today, to DIVA with Kim Anderzon.

The script/plot itself was only so-so, I think, but Kim Anderzon played the two roles - and the several roles one of them played - to the hilt and interacted deeply with us in the audience nonstop for one and a half hours. What was really impressive was her comic timing.

My mother and I spoke a little about Waiting for Godot before the show, and in a way this one was similar, but rather than a tragicomedy this was a tragifarce. It required an extremely talented, experienced and broad-spectrum actor to pull this one off, but Anderzon had the socks to pull it off (literally!). Very much recommended!
