thette and I decided that I'd go back to translating, this time as a freelancer. (We decided this just before the Labor Day DFS, but I couldn't obviously start working on it right away.)
So far, I've
Next up is a short presentation I'll do at the local entrepreneur association tomorrow morning, when they have their monthly breakfast meeting. I'll also have to sort out my internet connection at the office, and apply to the association of Swedish translators.
I expect straight translations is what I'll do most, but I don't think there's much demand for that among the local companies. On the other hand, I'm sure they can use some expertise in translation management, and also in text production.
[1] The office space is one of the really good things here. A smallish office, centrally located, in a corridor filled with other small startups, hosted by the local entrepreneur association together with the municipality, at very little cost for the first few years.
So far, I've
- registered the company as a sole trader
- opened bank accounts, received a company card and a line of credit
- signed a lease for an office space[1]
- sent up trial balloons to most of my old contacts from the days at Tanto
- received some drafts for logotypes et c from my brother-in-law
- ordered computer, printer, display and basic programs from Dell
