I've continued working with various small and necessary tasks in order to, y'know, really start working, but so far the only translation-related things I've done is proofing various documents for the association of entrepreneurs in Värnamo (which they badly needed help with, I must say), for free. Small jobs, and I get the office at their place for next to nothing the first year.

On a more positive note I've sent in applications as a freelance translator to two of the largest translating bureaus in Sweden, and one has already answered, unsurprisingly, positively, which prompted me to get together a document of the fees I will take for various stuff.

I've also purchased and installed a copy of Trados, but had to install it on [livejournal.com profile] thette's desktop. Dell is sadly late in delivering my office compuer - the first projected delivery date was on the 18th, but then they wrote that it was delayed to the 24th. Strange thing is that it, when I checked right now, had been built and was under delivery from Ireland - via SKR, which if my googling is correct, would be the airport of Shakiso, Ethiopia. Why a package from Ireland to Sweden should go via Ethiopia is just... weird, even for a mind steeped in Usenet topology. And the tracking database of the deliverator is down for maintenance right now.

Lastly, I've done lots of lists of what I need to purchase. The office already has minimal furnishing, but it definitely needs a good desk lamp, and all sorts of small stuff.
