My range estimations suck
Aug. 6th, 2013 02:39 pmWhen Hulda started taking formal swimming lessons at the local outdoor bath (not a open lake, but an outdoor pool) I took the opportunity to fresh up my somewhat rusty swimming skills, eventually working up to 450-550 meters (18-22 lengths) per time and continuing on for a bit afterwards - or so I thought. That took me a little less than 5 minutes for three lengths.
Because when we were visiting my in-laws in Boden for my brother-in-law's wedding, and went to the local bathhouse there, I suddenly felt the lengths were going a LOT faster and easier - I did six lengths in five minutes.
So now I checked, and the local outdoor bath has a 50-meter pool… sounds like I indadvertedly has been preparing myself for Vansbrosimningen

Date: 2013-08-06 07:35 pm (UTC)It does explain how tired I've been after Hulda's swimming lessons, though. It's not that my body has been deteriorating a lot since I last swam reasonably regularly - it's that I did a lot more than I did at that time but without knowing it. I'm in worse shape than I was five years ago (not surprising at all), but not that worse, since I live far more sedentary now.
