Filk in dialogue

Just realised that one of my recently written filks is in inadvertent dialogue with "Hope Eyrie":

"For the Eagle has landed, tell your children when"

Last weekend, I sang this to my daughter:

"För där landa Örnen juli sexti-ni"

(Cause the Eagle landed there in July sixtynine)

In my German translation of "Lightsailor," I rendered "a trail of fire" as "den Feuer am Himmel," i.e., "the fire in the sky."

Yeah, I've used plenty of such references too, especially to earlier Swedish filk. What was interesting here was that I did it without thinking on it, and acted on a task set upon me by an earlier filker.

My "Så'n är fandom" has the neofan being helped with the paper feed, referring to the classic Swedish filk song "Pappersframmatningen är trasig" (the paper feed is broken).

"Filkarvisan's" whole reason of being is to refer to filk songs, by referring to the original songwriters and works that we have filked in Swedish fandom.

"Our Con on the Way to the Con" has filkerdave sing "Ozymandias" and "A Fire Upon the Deep" (and it asks Swedish author Karin Tidbeck to bring her little sad goat).

I didn't intend a reference either. It was just the closest translation that scanned.

And I read that as a warning against sexting and thought she was kind of young to worry about that!
