After the water broke, we rested until about 5.30 AM, breakfasted and arrived at the hospital in Ljungby just before 7 AM on day 280. We had a second breakfast, walked around, had lunch, walked the stairs, walked around some more and Therese rested a bit until dinner. Heavy labour pains for most of the day, but they stopped after she got rested.

Hospital dinner was found to be unsatisfactory, and after a tip from another woman who just had given birth we went to Kim Thai, which proved to be Ljungby's answer to Tre Indier in Stockholm - excellent food, eccentric decor and very reasonable prices. Heartily recommended!

Therese had heavy labour pains all the way home, but upon examination the progress (which partly is TMI and partly beyond my medical English) was found to be: nada, zip, zilch, non-existant. Given that I had had abour four hours' sleep each for two nights, and Therese not much more, she got a couple of sleeping pills just before 11 PM, and we managed to sleep until 9 AM. At which point we waited, waited some more and waited again.

Therese was examined again, and when no progress still hadn't happened, we decided to try to stimulate the birth. She had some paste applied to her cervix which will help it to open, and hopefully we'll see some progress during the afternoon.

Jag håller tummarna för er, alla tre (inte alla tre tummarna, alltså, men ni förstår hur jag menar).
