thette was watching Torchwood on it.
Yesterday, I found some very detailed self-diagnostics on Apple's pages, and the verdict was a dead motherboard, something which my nose told me as well when I opened it up.
Today, I at least managed to remove the Torchwood DVD from the power-less drive, but I need to look into getting a new computer. We have some money to spare, but not that much, and this was not what I needed.
Preliminary shopping list:
* External hard drive chassi for 3.5" SATA
* A new iMac, or possibly Mac Mini with display
